So, here's my entry to the Lightning Returns contest! I found out about it on Saturday when I was feeling the pressure of impending car trip back home, two midterms and a lot of writing due the next week. Since then, I've spent probably about 20 hours (at least) on the project from development to this thing. 20 hours over effectively five days.

I've never finished something so quickly.

I don't think I'll make it past the DA round, just looking at the competition, but this is it! It was good practice anyways, and who knows? I might (however unlikely it is) be pleasantly surprised! _{let's be serious though there are scary entrants out there who did far better XD}

The sword is supposed to be a gunblade, but I didn't have the time to research how to possibly design one in terms of what would need to go where to make the sword more compact.

If any of you were interested, the thoughts I had for this were based on a little bit of Celtic symbolism.

+ The bird, which is a symbol of a bridge between worlds,

+ the tree of life (which took forever to draw on paper and I was sad to find that I didn't have enough pixel space for drawing it out properly),

+ triskeles (three connected spirals) which mean rebirth or reincarnation, _{I cheated at times and did just two connected but loose spirals}

+ square knots being shield knots which is indicative of protection.
